Today my blog post is going to be about Richard who is Mrs Taylor's husband. Richard's arm got chopped off when he was 17 and he had a hook on for a long time. After some research, some really smart people invented a robotic arm and Richard was the first one in Christchurch to have one of those. Richard is getting used to using the robotic arm and is learning as he goes, something cool is that he has an app that can sort of control it and do cool hand signs like a rock and roll one and many other things. A funny story based on that was when he was trying out and shaking people's hands and he tried it Mrs Taylor but when he did it, it kept going tighter and then all of a sudden it just stopped working and they were stuck like that. How it works is there is this censor above his arm so when he moves a muscle, that kind of sends a signal to the robotic arm which makes it do as it is told. It has batteries and a charging place so he also has to charge it. Here are some photos!
