Hey bloggers, I'm back!
Today I am going to be posting 3 poems that I have written over our poetry unit but they aren't any type of poem but we are sort of basing our poems around Pie Corbett and Valerie Bloom who are both very well known poets.
What we did first was find out the differences and similarities and if you search their poems up, then you can see that Valerie Bloom writes her's differently along with her choice of words and most of her poems are based on things around Jamaica because that is where she is from.
I have written 3 very different poems that I would like to share with you and I would like your thoughts about my poem's and how I can improve them. Here they are, I hope you enjoy, goodbye!
Challenge: Try writing a poem like I did but use a different poet for inspiration!

We are like leaves,
We have different feelings,
Which represent different colours,
Sometimes feeling happy and sometimes feeling peeved.
Our leaves are green in summer,
Making us happy,
But in Winter our leaves are gone,
Which is a big bummer,
In spring we get our leaves back,
Not just that,
But getting all of our memories
All the happiness back,
Reliving those times,
With all those times with family,
With friends and enemies…

Something was in there following me,
Poor me, why me?!
It was in the bush, rustling,
I could hear the other kids hustling,
I hoped it wasn't a thing in there,
But what if it was a bear?!
Maybe something even bigger,
That would have me for dinner!
Running around,
I drop down to the ground,
I could hear it panting,
I told myself, ‘Just keep hanging’.
Something pronounces on me,
I guarantee,
That wasn’t a bear or a hog,
But just a cute little dog!

If I could change something,
I would get rid of all those negative things.
The things that put you down,
The things that make you feel sad,
The things that you don’t want.
If I could change something,
I would change the rules of countries,
I would change them for the better,
For the safety and for the kindness,
For the peace.
If I could change something,
I would change the human race,
Make them kind and smart,
For good things and not bad things,
To make them thoughtful and caring.
If I could change something,
I would change inventions and discoveries.
Changing them so they are for good things,
Not for bad things,
Not for getting used to bring harm to people.
If I could change something,
I would change everything.
Humans, inventions, everything.
Change them for the better,
For things that are not for hurting, but for caring…
