Hey bloggers, I'm back!
Today I am going to be blogging about my speech that I have written about Racism, criticism and judging others. Well those are the main topics anyways. We had to present last week on Wednesday and Thursday. A couple of people volunteered to go but I didn't because I felt nervous about presenting my speech.
Eventually, Mrs Spragg got the sticks which had our names on it and picked people out. I presented my one on Thursday and the reason why I wasn't wearing my school uniform was because it was muftiu day so yeah. I was really nervous but when I went up there are started my speech, I got more and more confident so I think I did a pretty good job.
On Monday, before writing, our teacher's announced who got in the finals and who would be presenting and I was one of them! Yay! But we have to present in front of the whole school on Thursday which is tomorrow! I am really excited and nervous at the same time.
Here is my speech written out AND a video of when I was presenting! I would like some feedback on what I could do so that when I present, I would be even better, until next time, goodbye!
Admit it, you have talked behind someone's back? I mean haven't we all? It’s not always negative when you talk behind someone's back. It could just be negative about themselves comparing themselves. Thinking that they are better than them. I know I have thought of that. And I’m sure you all have. But we should always and I mean always, be proud of who we are. Because no one else can be like us. Can they? Of course not. “When you see a person who has been given more than you in money & beauty then look at those who have been given less.” My name is Parwin and I believe that we should be able to do things without being judged. I have 3 main topics, Racism, Criticism and judging others.
Topic 1: Racism
If you don’t know what It means, it’s when you make fun of someone’s race or religion. For example, saying Muslims are terrorists or black people are lower than white. The thing I hate about this is because they’re lies. Because of this we have incidents happen such as the one that happened in march. Just because people used to think like that, doesn't mean we should. Just because one person or people say something doesn’t mean it’s true. Why can’t we live in a world we could live like brothers and sisters?
Topic 2- Criticism
Furthermore, there isn't only Racism but criticism. This is when you remind others of their mistakes in a bad way. Have you heard the saying, “We learn from our mistakes” and that we shouldn’t be afraid of making mistakes? But a lot of people just criticize others all the time. But why? Why do we have to do this? They always say that making mistakes is part of life but why do we do we criticize them? Sometimes, I don’t try new things because I'm afraid of making mistakes.
Topic 3- Judging others
In addition, have you realized how the people you judge would feel? How they would feel after you say these things in their faces? Have you ever thought of that? Before you act, think. Is it True, Is it Helpful, Is it inspiring, Is it necessary, and is it KInd? If its not, then what’s the point of saying it? According to google, 23.4 percent of people misjudged someone by their looks 2 or 3 times each month. 9.4 percent of people do this once a month, 17.4 percent of people do this 2 or 3 times each week and 4.7 percent of people do this everyday.
Without a doubt, we should never do these things. Being racist, criticizing someone or judging them by their looks. Some of you probably don’t even know how it feels. It's a feeling that your not wanted there. Its feeling that makes you feel like doing bad things to yourselves. It’s a feeling where you question yourself why you had to end up unlucky. But It’s not too late so we can make a difference. Thank you for listening to my speech.
