Hey bloggers, I'm back!
Today is Tuesday and what happens on a Tuesday? Well, I do my home learning blog post. For this week, we had to write a book review for a book that we have recently made. The book that I have read is called 'My Sister Lives On The Mantelpiece' written by Annabel Pitcher.
This book is actually my Novel Study Book. The story is about a boy named Jamie who used to have 2 sisters. Now he has one because one her sisters got killed in the 9/11 attack. From then on, there parents started blaming each other for that and now they have broken up not just because of that but because Jamie's mother had an affair with someone else. Jamie's dad then bought a new house in Lake District that's far away from London. Jamie's father hates Muslim's but at Jamie's new school, he has to sit next to a the only Muslim in the school. It's a really cool book which I think that you should read!
Here are my thoughts about the book! I hope you enjoy!
I think that the book is very well written and has caught the attention of the readers in the first couple of chapters. The book itself was very sad at the end and made me cry. I liked the fat that the author had made the story realistic and the choice of words that they chose. In the book, instead of having speech marks, when someone talks they make the writing go like this. In a sort of diagonal way. I sort of didn’t like the parts where the dad had hated Muslims and everything and found it very offending the fact that he thought just because some people did do something wrong, they think that everyone else is like that but apart from that, the book was nice and I recommend you to read it!
