Media Team Day!

Hey bloggers I'm back!
Today we had our Media Team day at Hornby Primary School. We had to get dropped of by our parents and get picked up from Hornby Primary too. At first, we just kind of got to know eachother and Miss Morgan just told us about what the plan was and what we were going to be doing. So after that, we had to login to the Wi-Fi but for some people, it didn't work so we used a different Wi-Fi. After that, we had around I think 5 minutes to find some jokes because at the end of the day, we were going to be taking turns saying joes while the their had water in there mouth. Some of the jokes were really fun which made me laugh and spit the water but most of them weren't as funny.

After looking for some jokes, we each picked a slide and decorated it. The slides were for the Student Summit for Friday which is tomorrow. I had to cop and paste the names of the people going for each toolkit for session 2. There were lots of names and I couldn't fit all of them which was why I had to make the font very small but that didn't matter because on the day, the words would be projected which would make the text look really big.

I didn't finish mine because I was going to decorate it more but it was break time for us. We sat outside on the tables and had our morning tea. After we had our morning tea we got o play for a while. We played busted in the playground with the other Media Team students from other school's which was really fun!

After break, we had a producer who came in and taught us about filming and his name was Kerrie (if that's how you spell it right). He produced many TV shows like What Now, Adam and Eve show, Fanimals and many more that I can't remember. He taught us what the names of different types of shots were like Wide shot, Low shot, Medium low shot, extreme low shot and so on. He taught us some tips and things that we should do before we start filming. Like planning things, making sure that you look excited, lighting is good and so on. He taught us what Panning and Tilting means. Panning means when you move the camera from left to right and Tilting means moving the camera up or down. Always film more than you need to because you could make a transition that would look really cool and always edit your video!

It was time for lunch now. We went and sat at the tables and had our lunch which was nice because I was really hungry. We had our food and played busted again but some people from Hornby Primary joined in as well. It was a very fun game!

After break, we went inside and did some planning for tomorrow. Because tomorrow we were going to be filming and interviewing people which means we had to make a timetable about what we were going to be doing. We had to write questions down and write the names of the people that we were going to be interviewing and what times. We also used some photos and a story board of what we were going to be filming for tomorrow.

Once we had finished, we got our bottles and went outside and took turns to tell jokes. I spat the my water out 2 times and most of the other time, I kept accidently swallowing it before they een told the joke. Here are some jokes that I found funny!

A couple were at a restaurant and the chef bought the food.
Husband: Food looks delicious, lets eat!
Wife: But I thought you always said a prayer at home?"
Husband: Well that's home and this is a restaurant. Here is the chef knows how to cook.

What is the difference between a snowman and a snowwoman? Snowballs!

I hope you enjoyed my blog post and if you have any questions then please ask, until next time, goodbye!

  1. Hey Parwin,
It is great to read your recount of the day. I think it is especially helpful that you included the information from Kerry - hopefully you will come back to that later. What was your favourite part of the day? Do you think you were well prepared for your filming of the Student Summit?
