It is me Parwin, I think you were right about the sea sailing thing. Cause it is pretty scary but when it is night, the stars look beautiful! For food, I have to eat fish and there is ALOT of them here since I am at sea. I hope to see so soon!

This is a activity that I have done for the summer learning journey which is something that you do during the holidays but there is a certain amount of time that you have.
The activity was that you had to write a letter to someone and imagine that you are in a waka going over sea's. This is my letter as you can see and it is to my wonderful friend, Jedi!
I have learnt a story about Maui and the giant fish, if you want me to tell you then keep reading! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Usually Maui's brothers went fishing a lot. Maui also wanted to go fishing with them as well but when ever he would ask if he could come, they would just make an excuse. Maui really wanted to go fishing so he secretly made a plan... That night, when he was all by himself, he started weaving a fishing line with strong flax. While he was doing that, he also recited a karakia to make his fishing line strong. Once he was finished, he got the jawbone that his ancestor, murirangawhenua had given him, and tied it to the fishing line. When it was early in the morning, he hid in his brothers boat in the hull. When Maui's brothers were trying to pull the canoe, they noticed that the canoe was heavier than usual so they pulled harder. None of them found out that Maui was hiding in the hull, when they dropped the anchor, they were far away from home, Maui surprised them! The brothers asked him what he is doing here and Maui replied that he is going to be the greatest fisherman. He told them to put their lines in the sea while he says his karakia so that they catch more fish. The boys instantly started catching fish one after an other. Maui then took his hook out and threw it into the sea. His brothers laughed and made fun of his fishing line, but Maui ignored them. He said his Karakia and threw his line in the sea, And a couple of seconds later, the hook got attached to something and the canoe started moving in full speed! The brothers told Maui to cute the line but he refused. Soon a huge fish was pulled to the surface. All the brothers were amazed to see a huge fish that big! Maui ordered his brothers to keep guard on the fish while he gets people to see his fish but while he was gone, the brother chomped greedily on the fish. When Maui was back with people, they were amazed as well and cheered "Maui is the best fisherman!" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things I have learnt: I have learnt things about Maui like, when he wants to do something but nobody helps him, he does it himself because he is determent to do it.
He believes that he can be the best fisherman and people believed it too. There are different karakia's for every different THING
It was a starry night, when Ava and Austin were playing fishball before going to bed as usual. They heard many tales about the evil dolphin Aunos.
Aunos was a great dolphin and was always helping everybody when one day, he went into a cave and drank something that made him evil. He was then banished from the sea and no one knew whether he was dead, alive or where he was. That was when Ava and Austin saw a dolphin, slightly bigger than them and had a different colour body and had red eyes. At first, they didn’t know what to do, and as they swam away to call for help and tell them what they saw, Aunos struck lightning at them...
I came to school wearing mufti, bt only my class, and why exactly? Because my class was going to the A&P Show! YASS!
But even better news because I was going to go with Lauren and Jedi! So my day went like this…
First what we did was we hopped into the car and then we started to drive to the show. The first thing we got was candy floss which was as delicious as candy. I didn’t finish mine because I thought I would get sick, so I gave it to Jedi cause she is just as crazy about candy floss as Lauren. We walked around eating candy floss and looking at the rides. There was a funny magicoin and I think he was a bit worried because he looked nervous. After a couple of minutes of looking around, it was almost lunchtime so all of us got hot chips for lunch! YUMMY! But it was hot like a oven so I burnt my tongue! OUCH!
After Lunch we watched the horse riding for a bit and got some candy. The store that we went to had a huge lollipop which was probably Jedi, Lauren, and my head combined together but even bigger. It was like a huge colourful monster that wanted to go in your stomach to eat you…
Just Joking! Anyway, we looked at the animals like sheep, chickens, roosters, cows, rabbits, and way more! I even touched a rabbit was so fluffy like a furball!
We watched the sheep shearing competition and then we looked around the shetlands area so we could find out if Chloe was there. We looked around so much that it was time to go back to SCHOOL!
So that was my day to the A&P Show 2017!
The week after the A&P show happened, our teachers decided set something up and that something was 8 tasks that we had to do. But what was the topic? A&P show! I only did 5 activities because I was working hard to make it vibrant and creative rather than just stick something on. I mostly draw most of my stuff or printed them. In class, for inquiry, we had to pick country and study some things about it. I picked Afghanistan and one of the things that you had to do was re-tell a well known story and this is one that I know, hope you enjoy!
Yesterday, Our teacher told us that we are going to practise writing a narrative. But first we need a topic so my teacher Mrs.S found a video and showed us but only to half way when she saw the cloud and then we had to make the rest up. After we watched the movie, we wrote what we saw and how we felt on the board as a class so that it could help us with our story. Once we finished writing our idea's, we got a planning sheet and wrote our plan for the story but we had only ten minutes. After writing our plan, we started to get our plan into action! The Rainmaker
Imagine yourself, on a desert and once used to be sea. If I had to describe it, I would say as hot as a oven. Anyway, there I was, flying a small plane in search for any rain clouds. I has been ages I have been looking for rain clouds but there weren't any. Everyday I would get up early and fly around hopping there would be a cloud somewhere. Life used to be easy when the sea was there and I had my home, but what happened was that a war happened and killed my father. His last words were “Save your family and tell them how much I love them, goodbye…” And with that he died. I was determined to listen to my father's order’s. Before the war, I would always play in the sea with my little brother John, and my dad would sometimes go fishing and take me with him, but not anymore. Once he got a fish just as big as my little brother john.
Minutes passed as looked around in my plane not knowing what to do, I was about to lose hope and go back when something shined in my eye. I looked around and that was when I saw that it was the light house. It was shining towards the mountains in front of me and that was when I saw a cloud. I was running out of petrol but I had to go near the cloud because I had invented something called the rainmaker and it’s hard to explain how it is made.
Momentarily, I put the gear on full speed and went closer to the cloud but I was almost there when I started to go crashing down to the ground. My plane got damaged and so did I. I couldn’t contact anyone since I didn’t have anything on me. I decided that I would try and climb the mountain since I was surrounded by it. I started to climb it. I wasn’t even halfway when suddenly I went falling into the ground! “AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” I yelled. But nobody could hear me. I kept going down until I landed in the water.
Following that, swam up and that was when I saw a cave full of water. I felt so happy to find water but how was I supposed to get out? I got out of the water and looked around for any holes leading outside but I couldn’t find any. It was pretty dark so I couldn't see much. I felt around the walls when I felt a leaver. I pull the ever down, and a huge hole was made. I was confused and thought who could have made this.
Meanwhile, I saw a dim light so I went near it and when I saw tumbleweed, I knew this was the way out. I went out and so my village. I ran to my village and told everybody what happened. Everybody got big buckets and some kids even tooks their shirts off because they wanted to swim.
During that time, I was so happy to see my village laughing since it was a long time I saw them laugh but at that moment, in the middle of the lake, there was a swirling pool...
In Rimu, we had to make some logo's for Uru Manuka for 2018 and We had 2 days to make as much as we can but the twist was that we could only use 3 colours plus black and white and it has to be digital. I made mine on some things online and google drawings! Hope you enjoy, also I need feedback and which one was your favourite?
In Rimu class we had to do a little presentation on what we would do if we were Prime Minister and we could either be in a party group that already exists or make your own. I made my own and hope you enjoy!🤞
In Rimu, on Wednesday, sometimes Mark and Kelsey comes to our class and teaches us how to be smart and safe online. For this week we learnt about netiquette and we had to write the do's and dont's. I think I did a great job with mine but you guys can't see it very well so sorry! Hope you enjoy!

TOPIC: Makeup
Why do people like women buy SO much makeup? Cause they think they aren't beautiful but everybody is beautiful in their own way, and remember that! Beauty isn’t about having a pretty face, It's about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and a pretty soul. Did you know that 3.14 million dollars is getting spent on just eyebrow makeup LAST YEAR? And $88.2 million spent on prestige hair care. SO how much do you think they would spend on eyeshadow and lipstick? Well let me tell you that it is a lot and if you want to know how much it is then it is, it is 55 billion dollars! Oh, whoops, forgot to introduce myself! For those who don’t know me I am Parwin and today I am going to complain about everyday use of makeup. FUN FACT TIME! Did you know that Did you know that just in 2016, 382 billion dollars were spent on makeup? And that most lip stick include fish scales?
Anyway here are my 3 reasons why you shouldn’t use makeup…
First of all, it’s expensive
Second of all, It can ruin your face
And last but not least, It can have things that you shouldn’t put on your face
Number 1 It’s expensive. It’s not common for a women to have at least 6 different types of everything. And imagine how much that would cost, I’ll calculate that for you. By the way I am only using the base coat like foundation, eye shadow, lipstick, and eye liner because if I say everything then you guys would be asleep by then. The answer is 15,000 dollars just for an individual in just 1 year for those who are really into makeup.
Number 2 It can ruin your face Applying makeup actually clogs your pores, creating more acne than what you were trying to hide.If you treat the acne instead of hiding it, you won’t be creating a worse situation.
Number 3, It can have things that you shouldn’t put on your face such as ;
`Ingredients like sodium benzoate, propylene glycol, and anything ending in "acid" have been known to cause allergies in sensitive individuals. Even if you don’t have sensitive skin, you may have a reaction over time from excessive exposure.
Beauty starts in the moment you be yourself, and the best thing you can wear to do that, is confidence. Thanks for Listening to my speech and I hope that you are convinced on why you

In class, every week, whenever the year 7 and 8's go to manual which is on Friday's and when they are gone we do some special stuff. On the first week we did Wild Eyes which is a site, on the second we did Super Hero stuff and this week we are doing detective stuff. For one of the things that we had to do was do an art but not any art because we had to draw the design on our finger prints! First we got special pieces of paper and then we got some felt's coloured it and stamped it on the paper. AFter we did that, we had to look at it closely and then we got to sketch and colour! We had to make sure that there aren't any white gaps in the drawing so we had colour it with pastels. We had to use complementary or Analogous colours, Here's mine!
having a two week holiday, was really fun!
On the first week on the holidays, we stayed home and my friends came to our house for dinner which was really fun! We played lots of games together and thought that she could have a sleepover but she was going to have it next week. As the weeks went by, I didn't do much really on the first week but the second week was really fun! On Monday we went to the Hornby Mall and bought a cake because the my two sisters were turning 1! I got them some toys but they were scared of dolls that time. On Tuesday we went to the Westfield mall until we have to take my brother to Rugby. We got some clothes and Shoes but then since it was pretty warm, Sahil and I got ourselves some of those blue fanta things.
We forgot to look at the time and so Shukoor was late and we couldn't take him to Rugby training. The next day we stayed home but I was excited tomorrow because I got to go to my friends house and have a sleepover too! When I had a sleepover at her house, first we had to go to someones house because they got a new house. We stayed there for a really long time and by the time we went home, it was dark as it could be. When we went home we had dinner and then we made some slime which was really fun. First we made normal slime and dyed it pink, then we made foam slime and dyed it both green. She also had a pastel pink colour which was really cool. My favourite slime was the normal slime because the foam slime, the little balls would go everywhere which is really annoying for me and her. After that we decided to do our nails but it took a really long time because we did our nails white but we had to do lot's of coats to make it actual white. I was getting really tired so we went to sleep, When we woke up we had breakfast and we did lots of challenges after because we didn't know what to do. We did the what's in my mouth challenge's which was fun! After a couple of hours we had to get ready because I was gonna go home which was sad. Tomorrow on Saturday, we went to the mall and we each had our own money that we could buy anything which was really fun. We let the babies play in the kids area for a while and watching them play was really funny! We spent the day like that and the next day I had farsi school that was on every Sundays, We went walking to the park after breakfast, we took the babies too with their shoes on and they walked so much when we got there! One of my sisters Roya walked on the grass a lot and my other sister Parisa didn't go on the grass. It was nearly 2 oclock which was when it started and if we went it would have taken a really long time and we would be late so we didn't even go! I spent the day playing with my sisters and doing some reading too because tomorrow SCHOOL STARTED! YAY!

In class we had to do a mihi and first we had to make it on a document and we printed it, after that we got to decorate it before it got laminated. If we finish doing that then we have to make a presentation with the our mihi information in it. HOPE YOU ENJOY!
Hi it's me Parwin again and in class we were supposed to pick a photo and right about it, I picked a really scary one with an old lady in it. We were supposed to add Alliteration (three words that mean the same), Simile (sentence that has the words like or as) Metaphor (sentence that has the word was or as), and Personification (is when you compare a nonliving thing to a living thing.
I strolled through the streets as I saw a lady as creepy as a mummy that’s been sitting there for a thousand years without getting wrapped! I tried not to look at her deep evil fiery eyes but every time I looked at her, she was as still as a stone but was as old as a carrot. Her hair as mouldy as spaghetti that’s been sitting there for 2 weeks and as slimy like a snail. The bright moon shone on me as I scootered home but in just a flash of lightning the old lady had VANISHED! Just as I thought of her, I could imagine her CHEWING CLEAN CHILDREN and once they went inside her stomach, it would be a CREEPY, CHILLED, CRUMBLED place full of other nasty things.

When I woke up I was so nervous that I had the butterflies already because we had CROSS COUNTRY!!! When I got ready and went to school I didn't even run much so I didn't waste my energy because I wanted to go fast and not go slow. When it was my turn to run I was nervous because I knew that Mika wanted to beat me and she was behind the whole Cross Country and I was hoping that I was someone else but Everytime I look, IT'S STILL MIKA and when ever I was so tired I wanted to tell mika that we can tie but I decided not to. When it was my final lap, I got to run through the shoot and I came 1st! YYYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! As I watched the others run I encouraged them to run but when the CROSS COUNTRY was FINISHED I was so happy that when I went home I told my mum and dad! But then the next day when I was doing my work Mrs.Spragg came and told me that I was going to go to ones which was going to be fun but also exhausting because the last time I did it, it felt like I was about to fall down which was what happened. One day when I was just in my room I saw these humongous chickens that were bigger than me running outside so I zoomed to see it but when I got there… One of the chickens thought I was food so that chicken chased but then all the chickens started to chase my so I had to escape from this nightmare so I trotted till I was inside my house and locked all the windows and doors so they won’t be able to come in which was a superb idea! I started to pull my tongue in front of them when something was on my back but not only one thing, lot’s of things and that was when I realized why they were chasing me, it was because I had thousands of worms on my back! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Just until I thought I was going to die, THINGS GOT WORSE!!! All the chickens heads had popped out and I was about to faint when someone tipped ice cold water on my head and when I woke up all the chickens were looking at me and then they started laughing at me which was weird because i didn't know that chickens can laugh, CAN THEY?
But then something really weird happened, the chickens turned into giant bananas which was really confusing but that wasn’t all because the chickens woops I mean GIGANTIC BANANAS WANTED TO EAT ME!!! As I ran as fast as my small legs could carry me, I ran out of the house and locked the door with the keys under the pot but that wasn’t all because when I was about to go, there was something dripping on me so when I looked up I saw the most hideous dog but not any dog a giant DOG!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!! “Oh could things get any worse on this day” I said to myself and I dumbly went into a house, actually I mean in the white house when instead of seeing the president of the United States, I just saw a group of angry beavers that were dressed in suits! I was about to jog out of the house when apparently one of the beavers went in front of me and tied me up! The beavers was so big that It could pick me up so it did at got me and put me a stinky old wardrobe which was interesting because why would a beaver have a wardrobe when it was made out of wood which was pretty weird. In the wardrobe was nothing but snow so I went further from where the snow was coming but then I tripped over a duck but then I was wondering why a duck would be living in a wardrobe but once I looked around I saw that all around me were just trees and animals. When I looked behind my self I saw that the wardrobe was gone and I didn’t even in a wardrobe! I looked around and followed a path that went to a castle so I went inside because I was shivering cold but then all of a sudden when I went inside I saw Beall but then I heard the most annoying voice of all that said “CUT!” But then everybody came out with camera’s in their hand and when I was about to ask what was going on, Beall yelled angrily and shouted”WHY DID YOU HAVE TO COME NOW?! HUH?! I was in the middle of making a movie but then you, you little rascal ruined it! CURSE YOU!” and stomped of to her room but before she was gone I said “AREN'T YOU MEANT TO BE ALL NICE AND HELPFUL INSTEAD OF GROUCHY AND BAD MANNERED!” “I ONLY ACT OKAY OTHERWISE I WOULD NEVER ACT LIKE THAT OKAY!” Yelled back Beall.
